Nora's Family

I am finally feeling slightly better. I crawled out of the bed I've been living in for two days, to get out and get some errand and more packing done. I finished up 2 sessions, delivered the Randall wedding photos, shot some commisioned stuff, packed 6 more boxes, sorted through all my clothes and purged a lot, and prepped this one from last month for blogging before I hit the bed again.
Nora and her family got a beautiful early August evening for their photographs.

This little guy I think was separated at birth from his twin, my son Bodie. Their personalities and actions are almost identical. Even down to how they describe how cool bike crashes would be.

So we decided to take this photo on a usually desolate road. But everytime they got ready, another car would come by kicking up dust. Finally, I just took the photo and edited out the car.

I'm so glad we took this one on one of my favorite walls downtown. They people who own the building are patching all the cracks and painting it a boring brown color. No more grungy goodness.
And my favorite...

FYI

I'm behind on editing by about a week and a half. I'm trying to catch up, but woke up this morning with a cold starting and lots of sneezing. Now I'm trying to fight the urge to jump back in bed, and edit through watery eyes.
Thanks to everyone for their patience!

Amber- Senior 2011

Amber is the little sister of Adam. She was absolutely amazing to work with. She is just so easy to make look good! I hope she has a great senior year!

Tyler - Senior 2011

I got to take Tyler's senior photos while he was here from Washington State visiting his mother. He really did not want to smile in his portraits, and I totally respect that. He looked very cool and collected, and I ran with it.

I love these next two. I used my SkatePunk LightRoom preset on them for an edgy look.

New Preset Offer

Lately, I've had quite a few people coming to my blog for Lightroom Presets. All my links had expired and I have been to busy to fool with reposting them.
However, I do see where there is a lot of traffic for the presets, and who am I not to give the people what they want? So I chose my favorites ones I have created and uploaded them HERE. Enjoy!

Paulson Family - 3 Generations

Last year I photographed Renee and her family. She called me early this summer to arrange a generarational shoot with her husband's parents and family. I have to admit, these are not my favore of sessions. I have to follow a checklist and make sure we get all the shots. There is some room for creativity and fun, but not too much when you work with so many people at once. But in the end, I'm always happy with the results. I love to record how to people in love...
...can create all of this beautiful family.

Like I said, there is some room for fun...

Renee and her husband have such a gorgeous little family of their own.

End of Summer

Tonight is the end of summer. Goodbye to laying around, doin' nothin', and being bored. Tomorrow my boys head back to school. Tye will be at Willow Creek this year, and Bodie stays in the Montessori program but moves to E2. Both boys are excited, especially Tye. He's really nervous, too. He is entering a new place not knowing anyone in his class yet. He might have one girl from Montessori in there, but we just don't know yet. Hopefully he will at least have some boys from this past baseball season on his team.
We have spent a lot of time at the ball field this summer. Bodie played on the Tigers, and Tye was on a Yankee, much to his chagrin. As a Twins fan, I have raised him to despise the Yankees. To make things worse, he got Derek Jeter's number. But he loves playing baseball, so it didn;t stop him. He played with a traveling team this spring, then had his last year of Little League, and is still playing fall tournaments. He has improved so much this summer and this Sunday he hit an "infield" grand slam! Such a proud moment. Two big highlights of the summer were a visit from Glen, Tina, & Hayden from Texas, our trip to Chicago. We hope to see more family in Texas next summer and are definitely planning to head back to Chicago. We didn't see nearly enough of the city.
We also decided to move! We found a house just north of town and are all very excited about it. It's everything we need and want, with an acre and a half to play. We are able to start moving in about 2 weeks! I can't wait to share more about it, but in the meantime I have to get back to packing in between all the editing I have to catch up on...

I have so much more to share soon, including some of the many sessions I have yet to post!
