Over the (Blue) Moon!

Last night I capture this image of the Blue Moon. I was very lucky, because I was on my way home and saw it just starting to come up over the corn. I grabbed the telephoto lens and snapped a few shots until I got it right. Later, I shared it on facebook on a news page. Today, they posted it to their page. it has since received 12,000 like and over 1,300 shares!!!! The compliments have been amazing and heartwarming.

Bodie's Surprise Bonfire

For Bodie's 13th birthday, we decided to throw him a surprise bonfire. We invited his baseball teammates, and most of them were able to make it. Tye also invited a few of his friends. We had a glow in the dark theme with lots of glow sticks, necklaces, and toys. They played a round of touch football first, raced a neighbor's go kart around, then ate. That was followed by Blitzball, and even later Glowball. All the kids had glow necklaces on in the dark so you could see where they were. And they basically played baseball with a glow in the dark ball. It was pretty amazing to watch. Bodie got lots of cash, which he plans to use for buying a new baseball glove.

Little Blake

He came to see me with his family just before Easter. He has such a full head of hair!

Tyler & Courtney

My best friend's daughter, who is almost like a niece to me, married the nicest man ever. Tyler is kind, smart, and a perfect match to beautiful and brilliant Courtney. I was so excited when they asked me to be their photographer.

12 Years

My youngest is 12 today. My dad drove us to Jordan for a candy store visit with Bodie's friends, Willie & Josh. We stopped for lunch at Hardee's in Faribault first. Then they filled their baskets at Big Jim's candy store with a huge box of Hot Tamales, other sugary sweets, and lots of pop of strange flavors. We came home and tried the pop flavors of Kitty Piddle (pineapple), Peanut Butter & Jelly, Sweet Corn, and Bacon. The boys also cried and giggled as they ate super sour gum balls on the way home. Lots of laughs and a fun birthday!

Bonfire

The day I wait all summer for...

I love the first day of school. I need the quietness to return to the house. I truly love my kids, but I need a break. They always act like they don't want to go, but they are really excited. Tye is now in 9th and Bodie is in 6th grade.

Bear is really going to have to get used to the quit. She was so cute watching them leave this morning.

Happy Fourth!

We had quite a busy day with a family get together here at our house. My grandparents, mom, aunt & uncle, cousin, sister, another sister and her family, as well as friends were all here to visit and have a potluck with us. It was really nice and the weather was beautiful. After everyone left, we got some nice "All-American" shots of my step niece and step nephew.
