Jackie + Clay = Enagament Session

Jackie is the little sister of a former co-worker and I was fortunate enough to get to take her senior photos a few years ago. Now, she is engaged to marry Clay next February. They have that "young love" look in their eyes, and they are just so into each other.

She said he proposed on an ATV ride...

One of my favorites from the whole session...

I think this is one of the best jumping photos ever.

Jane+Darin

Back in October, I photographed Jane & Darin for engagement photos. They got married last month and soon I will be able to share their wedding shots.

I love when I tell the guy to whisper something in his fiancee's ear, and it usually ends up being semthing dirty and shocking! Sometime's I tell the guy to say something dirty on purpose just to see the reaction. I wish I knew what he actually said!

Megan+Dan

I have so much to tell about how much fun the boys and I had in Orlando last week with Melanie and Sammy. But I still have lots of photos to edit, so I thought I would share some from an engagement session back in February.
I got to meet Megan and Dan, whose wedding I will be photographing in late May. They are incredibly sweet with each other. We were thankful for a not so bitterly cold day, though there was still quite a bit of snow on the ground. And I have to say, I love how beautiful the February sun can be.

Thanks you two for being so easy to photograph. I can't wait for May!

As February ends...

...I find myself very busy again. I'm trying to finish up the school yearbook for the kids. I have been just plain busy with the kids. I was able to do our good deed to get tickets for our upcoming Disney trip. And I finally was able to photograph a few people who have been waiting patiently for a long time for the weather to get warm enough to get some photos, which now I have to edit.

Bodie has been testing me at every turn lately. He has been rebellious, mouthy, stubborn, and comical all at the same time. When he sets his mind not to do something, he simply will no be convinced to do it. But when he finds something he really wants to do, he will find a way. On President's Day, he got it in his head he wanted to take a bath. The only problem is our bathroom is still under construction (that's another story for another time) and we currently do not have a tub. Actually, we have a very nice claw foot tub, but it's outside, next to the garage.
Bodie and John came up with an idea John refers to as the "redneck bathtub". He put an empty Rubbermaid storage bin in the shower stall and filled it with soap and water. Instant tub. And we had one very happy Bodie.

My poor redneck child. Ugh.
While Bodie was getting his bath, my brother-in-law, James, and his girlfriend Misty, came over with exciting news. They went ring shopping and she got a beautiful engagement ring. They have not set a date or anything, but I am very excited for them and the prospect of not only gaining a sister-in-law, but also a niece and nephew. I hope i get to take some engagement photos of them soon.
In the meantime, I'm posting these photos of Heather and Justin, taken on a very cold day last fall. They are getting hitched this August and I will be photographing their wedding, too.

I love this shot in the entrance to a tunnel...

...but this one is definitely a keeper.

Cori with her sister and her puppy

I still have so many sessions from last fall to post!
Cori is the youth pastor at the church we have been attending recently, but I met her at least a year ago. I met her at my friend Melanie's house, and we see each other often, through crafting, hanging out, watching movies, and we even went to see the new Harry Potter movie at midnight last summer together. She is so very bubbly and energetic, and my boys adore her!
Her sister came from Nebraska to visit Cori this fall and we took the opportunity on one of the few days it was not raining to get some photos of them together. Cori also brought along her
puppy Bennett.

Jumping! Look at that awesome air!

I love this one. Bennett is so well behaved.

Melinda + Ian = Beautiful Northern Minnesota Wedding

While I'm waiting for some edited photos to download, I'll share with you some photos from a wedding I shot back in September. It was a graet wedding and a couple weeks ago I finshed weeding through the 1200 photos I took. I ended up editing 573 of them!
I went "up north" to the Brainerd/Baxter area for the shoot. I have not been up to that part of Minnesota since we moved here 9 years ago. I wasn't sure exactly how long it would take to get up there, so I left super early in the morning. With a few stops along the way, I ended up getting to the salon just about 5 minutes before the bride and here ladies arrived. Whew!

The wedding was held at this place...

Her soon to be sister-in-law helped with her make up.

I love her reaction to seeing herself all done up and ready to wed...

Melinda & Ian decided to have a meeting on the lakeshore before the cermony. I love his reaction to seeing her for the first time.

Then time for a few photos...

At the ceremony, they both sai the most beautiful vows. There was not a dry eye in the crowd.

Ian's siblings sang for them...which made everyone tear up more.

They rode off to the reception in style.

Their cake topper cracked me up (they both love fishing).
Ians best man was gave an incredible speech. He was hilarious!
First dance. Look how in love and happy they are...
Their reception was filled with amazing family and friends. They are blessed to both come from such great families. I had such a good time with everyone!
