Paper Bag Challenge!

Jenny K. at Inspiring swaps challenged us to create a paperbag album. I made this one tonight. I used the DCWV 8x8 stack from Joann's.
Let me know what you think!

Scrappin'

I spent the weekend with my sister and got a few layouts done.

The first one is Tye from his surgery almost 2 years ago. The 2 pictures on the left side of the layout are hinged and open to reveal journaling space. I've been wanting to do this one for a long time, but just couldn't figure out what to do. But once I figured out I wanted the stencils, the rest was fairly easy. my goal is to get several layouts done, then try to submit them and get published. I have been teaching a few classes and lessons at the local scrapbook store, but I think I'm ready for the next step.

I also love this one of Tye after he lost his 2 front teeth. I had the tooth brads for a long time, and was very happy to finally get to use them. I also love the "lost" made from Type writer keys. I really like the feel they give.

The one of my mom was really easy. I've been dying to try to just do lots of flowers, but with 2 boys, how often do I get to try that? In the corner is a nice rub-on(G for Grandma).

The last one is a scraplift of one I saw on 2 peas, but I think it's perfect for this picture of Bodie. He really is such a ham and poses so nicely! Tye on the other hand ifs going througha phase swhere he only wants to make goofy faces or not take pictures at all. I know I need to take more right now, because the day is comng too soon when neither boy will let me photograph them.

My Birthday

Well, yesterday was my 29th birthday. I had to work, but was pleasantly surprised when the delivery man brought me flowers and a singing balloon from John and the boys. It was very sweet, even though the balloon sang a metal hair-band type song about birthdays. Bodie thought it rocked. All you do is lightly tap the balloon and it sings. Bodie taps it everytime he walks by and has been rockin' out. (Bodie also is the photographer who took the nice picture of me in my profile (see to the left).

Barbara (MIL) took us out to a nice dinner at the Mexican restaurant. Roland (FIL) is out of town to Chicago on a business trip, so it was verynice that Barbara treated and celebrated with us. The boys told me happy birthday about 100 times and I got a hug almost everytime. They gave me picture frames and chocolates. It was a fabulous day. John and the boys made me feel very loved.

2006 already?!

I can't believe how quickly the holidays passed. It was like I was in a haze. Oh, wait, I was! I had another kidney stone and spent most of the holidays drugged up. But overall it was fun. Bodie had his Christmas program, and didn't sing one word. I will upload the video soon.

They boys were so excited for Christmas. They got everything they wanted. Santa brought Tye Pokemon cards ( he actually doulbld his collection between Christmas and his birthday) and a Hot Wheels Shark Park for Bodie. They got many, many toys, so they must have been at least a little good this year. John got a table saw and I got a dremel tool that I have been wanting for a while. Now I just need to find the time to work with it.

Tye also turned 7 on New Year's day. He had a Star Wars cake and everyone came over (except Lorraine, who was in Chicago visiting my brother, Gene).I can't believe how fast the time has gone since we had our New Year's baby and had our picture in the paper in 1999 .

Now its back to work, and school. I hope everyone has a great start to the new year! Enjoy the pictures from the holidays! (The last one below is my brother -in-law, James.)
